The Review

One of the most amazing factors about this album is that it is the the first CD from this group of musicians. Created by Mark A. Durstwitz who also provides incredible keyboard work and production, and co-writer Christine Hull, “The Children Of Children” is a moving and highly poignant story of the effects of divorce on children. The musicianship, songwriting, and lyric work is phenomenal, bringing to mind Dream Theater, King Crimson, and Savatage in a more tempered fashion. Augmenting Durswitz’s keyboards are the guitar wizardry of Vince Genella, and the intriguing quasi-operatic voices of Hull and Dennis Johnson. Although many of the songs are in the mellow spectrum, they still carry a subtle intensity and frequently stretch the bounds of conventional songwriting in many wonderful directions. This double disc is a must listen both for the musical talent involved and the message it conveys.
