Melodic death metal band "In Flames" from Gothenburg, Sweden, is considered to be a pioneer in the music scene and have not let themselves or their fans down since first starting out in 1990. In Flames started out as a side project from Original band member Jesper Stromblad, who was in a death metal act "Ceremonial Oath". He later created what is now known as the most wanted band around the world. "In Flames" was born and have released nine studio cds. "Lunar Strain," (1994) "The Jester Race," (1996) "Whoracle," (1997) "Colony," (1999) "Clayman," (2000) "Reroute to Remain," (2002), "Soundtrack to Your Escape,"(2004) "Come Clarity," (2006) and newest "A Sense Of Purpose." (2008)***

In Flames has come a long way from looking like a single match in a darkened room to engulfing the entire area with their powerful performances both on cd and in concert. The band raised its profile by taking part in several tours in 06's "Sounds of the Underground," and this year's Gigatour alongside Megadeath & Children Of Bodom. Touring and appearing in music videos isn't all these metal stars are known for, it's part of their life no doubt, but any artist that takes part in what they've devoted their life to surely want to catch that elusive dream of stardom. Keeping that magic alive is a strong number one goal in anyone's life. "A Sense Of Purpose," has brought "In Flames" to new ground with fifteen tracks that sink their claws into you without letting go.***

Their new release sounds much lighter when compared to their previous works. "Come Clarity," from (2006) it had a much edgier influence to me.The best tracks are "Delight And Angers," "Move Through Me" and "Drenched In Fear." these songs are the highlights that you will enjoy.

*** In a interview I spoke to some fans and asked them for their thoughts about the band's music and their live appearances. "Raymond Sanchez" had this to say about their concerts "I think the cd sounds great, their live performance is a thrilling experience". In concert "In Flame" is incendiary, and their latest will ignite a your passion for the band and the cd will leave you a burning desire to hear much more from them.
